Taking care of each other

Pepe (6) and Gaby (52)

'At the age of 18 I had a dog but I wasn’t mature enough to take care of another life and had to give her to another family. When I was 20 I broke my neck and ended up like this, but please do not feel sorry for me because I have a good life. But that feeling of wanting a dog never went away, nor the fear of not being able to take care of an other life especially in my situation. But six years ago I decided I could do it. Because I cant use my hands I couldn’t get a hunting dog, so I got Pepe. I trained him myself and when I drop something he picks it up and gives it back to me. When he needs to drop something, he is trained to go in the bushes, so I don’t have to pick it up after him. And now I am so happy he is with me.’
